About Us

Hospice Fundamentals was founded in 2009 to fill a void: a lack of expert regulatory and compliance support and experience-based implementation strategies from veterans in the field.

The answer? A unique subscription product that brings depth and breadth of knowledge, experience and common sense to hospices of all shapes and sizes. And, with subscription fees based on average daily census, finally a resource affordable even to smaller hospices.

We’re a part of the Acevedo Consulting Group, along with our sister site, Home Health Fundamentals.

Hospice Fundamentals cuts through the “well we’ve always done it this way” fog and really shows the clear guidelines to follow.

We exist to take care of patients and families and not to be slaves to regulations.

We are responsible for knowing the regulations and for following them.

We do nothing without knowing why we are doing it.

Our Philosophy

Hospice Fundamentals believes that the highest quality and most cost-effective care is provided by Hospices whose regulatory approach is guided by three simple statements.

Known as The Principles of a Prudent Hospice™, we believe they say it all:

Hospice Fundamentals was a condition of employment for me. I don’t know how any one person or agency full of people can know everything about the regulations and also think through the practical applications of those regulations without a consultant like Hospice Fundamentals in their corner.
